Egypt provides wonderful tourist opportunities with its beautiful and varied country. During holidays, people usually go to Egypt because of The Pyramids. However, there is no denying that The Pyramids are an architectural marvel and certainly the most awe-inspiring monuments in the world, but they are also victims of their own success. Abu Simbel

Abu Simbel is likely to be the most iconic carved monument in Egypt after the Great Sphinx. The twin temples in Nubia, in the south of the country and close to the border with Sudan were rediscovered after being buried in the sand for hundreds of years and since then, it has been attracting visitors since 1800.

The temples were built for Ramesses II taking 20 years for it to complete. Today they remain some of the most breathtaking examples of Ancient Egyptian artistry and culture.

The Aswan Dam

It is easy to overlook some of the modern ones in Egypt because of its ancient wonders. The Aswan Dam changed the economic fortunes of Egypt, allowing the country to control the flooding of the Nile to improve agriculture and at the same time generating hydroelectricity.

The Aswan is actually two dams, but the newer High Dam is the one most associated with the title. the High Dam is a mighty and impressive feat of structural engineering because of its 3,830 meters long and 111 meters tall. Watching 11,000 cubic meters of water pass through the dam every second is an incredible sight and awesome demonstration of the Nile’s power.

The Temples of Karnak

Karnak was the Mecca in ancient egyptian religion, with temples dedicated to the great deities worshipped by the Egyptians. The site is too far to be explored because of its huge structure. One fleeting day is not enough for those travelers who are short on time. The highlight of Karnak is The Great Temple of Amin and is also a must-see historical site.

Siwa Oasis

The raw and natural beauty of the Siwa Oasis makes it unique from the other great structures found on Egypt. It is located in the remotest part of the Western Desert. If you want to be in a place where you can escape the hectic pace of modern life, it’s well off beaten track in a forgotten time is the best place to losen up. Its specialties are its hot springs and succulent local olives which is ideal places to relax.

Luxor Temple

Luxor has been called the world’s biggest open-air museum. The pick of the crop of the Luxor Temple is dedicated to the celebration of the festival of Opet. It was buit around 1400 BC, the temple is beautiful to behold, but has a special magnificence around sunset when the lighting comes on for evening viewings.

Right, flashbacks of jumping on the plane happy as Larry and waking up on the other side (without any recollection of flight) started to happen… When i came back from my previous holiday I passed out on my way back as well, so I haven’t actually experienced flying yet! I decided to “Man Up” as one of my friends had told me and I didn’t say anything to my wife, I just got on the plane. So I sat down, and nothing seemed to happen, my heart wasn’t racing and everything seemed fine, I could see straight as well. Even after the four massive engines under the wings started going and we approached the run way i was fine!

This was all strange, I couldn’t understand why I passed out the previous time, and before I knew it, we were in the air. I was actually getting pretty excited about my holiday now. I was really looking forward to getting to Egypt, and then jumping back on the plane. Everything just couldn’t stay going all smooth could it! Across the loud speakers, the Captain could be heard announcing that some heavy turbulence was heading our way. OK I braced myself, and it was really rocking and shaking from side to side, I was really scared, and there was even a storm outside, things couldn’t have looked much worse. And then all of sudden it stopped, but my heart didn’t. I never thought I would be saying this, but I kind of wish I blacked out!

Egypt holidays Didn’t actually appeal to me that much, and i never went back, next up was a decision between Maldives holidays or Sri Lanka holidays, both involve a aeroplane!

What is it in this advert that makes it oh so special. Well Jamie and Louise are people that everyone can relate to. They can be seen travelling with Thomas Cook to a modest resort, and relaxing on the beach. Many people will see these celebrities travelling here, and think that for a week or so they could also live like a celebrity. I do however doubt very much that Mr and Mrs Redknapp do stay in these resorts on a regular basis, but never mind what do any of us know about the lifestyle of a celebrity.

These two never seem to get bad press as well; they appear to be the perfect couple. This couple have worked well together, and do very well together. Thomas Cook provide holidays from the UK across the world, and have been doing so for over 100 years. This also very successful business seems to have captured a perfect partnership with the Redknapp’s.

Surely we should look at this from all angles though. Now really do we expect to see celebrities in the same buildings as us more common people, no we don’t. This hotel they are in at the advert, they wouldn’t really stay there, so are they telling us lies? Do you really think that this holiday is going to be as good as is suggested.

Sharm El Sheikh Holidays are a favourite of the Celebrity demographic, showered in luxury hotels, however saying that Egypt holidays have been popular with the entire country. So is Thomas Cook wrong to be employing role models in their adverts, of course not, I have been on Hurghada holidays, what fun it was, no celebrities spotted though!
