Southern Utah is the best place to see some amazing rock formations. Here are 5 Utah National Parks that you are going to want to add on your list of things to see the next time you plan a southern Utah vacation.
- Arches National Park
The Arches National is a extremely beautiful park and it receives a ton of visitors every year. The park actually contains hundreds of giant arch shaped rocks.
The most amazing part about these structures it is that they formed completely from nature. It is hard to believe that they where not created by some intellegent being, not by pure chance.
2. The Bryce Canyon National Park
This park has some of the most breathtaking viewpoints which you will ever see. On top of these canyons you will be able to see some amazing rock formations and I have to imagine it is an unrivaled place to study geology. This park really shows off the beautiful scenery in Utah is.
3. Canyonlands
Canyonlands is known for their gigantic Needle rock formations which can be extremely impressive. The needles seem to break out of the ground and fill the huge valley with these unbelieveable rock formations. The only bad part about this park is that it is split into 3 different sections.
If you travel to one section of the park you will not be able to see what the others two. So in order to get the most out of this park you must visit it 3 times, once for every section.
4. Capitol Reef
This is a very interesting park with an amazing wash. The Waterpocket in the park formed around 65 million years ago and stretches 100 miles. This is truly a site to see. In addition to this great canyon there are also Indian carvings which you can get a great close up look at.
5. Zions
Zion National park is a great place for water lovers and greenery. It is closer to a more traditional forest which contain greenery and lots of water then any of the other parks.
Each of these National Parks in Utah are worth visiting and all show off how beautiful Utah can be. The next time you take a vacation to Southern Utah make sure you spend a few days visiting them.
