Trampoline Olympics Athens 2004

Olympics are held in summer and winter which includes various sport events. Next Olympic events in 2012 which is going to be held in London will include 300 events of 26 sports. At the moment there is Winter Olympic ongoing in Canada which includes 7 sports with 80 events. Out of the 300 events, there is one event for trampoline which was introduced in 2000. Trampolines is an event which is a part of Gymnastic but should it really be a part of Olympics?.

Many people argue that more recognised sports such as Cricket and American Football are still not part of Olympic whereas now equipment normally used for fitness and exercise regime is now a part of Olympic. Next thing you know in few years there will be different competition for 8ft trampolines, 10ft trampolines and mini trampolines. Last few trampoline gold medals for bot Men and Women went to China, so I wouldn’t be surprised if all of these events introduced increase their tally to 100 gold medals in Olympic Games. Just how many gold medals are there to give away, just give me one – I can cash it and then give it to someone who needs it like ME? Hey I am good in typing, can typing be a part of Olympic sport?

But this introduction has given opportunity for trampoline to market itself and people these days are purchasing trampolines for their homes. Another good thing in this recession is more people would be interested in learning and they will need someone to teach them so people who are not able to compete but have relevant knowledge on trampolining, this gives them an opportunity to use this talent as an income or a profession. Especially in China where there are many people making money through table tennis and badminton they are given another option of trampolining to win more gold medals and make more money out of it – I am joking!.

Honestly trampolines are one of the most hardest equipment to use for exercise and fitness. You will require good balance and strength when doing an exercise regime or even just using it for exercise.
