Short breaks to savour in Wales

Uncategorized

When you are on a short trip, a weekend or slightly longer, it is important to make the best possible use of your time. Taking day trips or half day trips are the key to obtaining the best for a short break in Wales, and fortunately there are lots of suitable activities on offer.

I have listed below a selection of activities that awaits a visitor on any short breaks in Wales, or weekend breaks in Wales.

You can find country sports parks where you can spend and hour or two doing archery or clay pigeon shooting, or you could have a go at quad biking or go-karting if moving fast is appealing.

If you like cycling, climbing or walking this is the place where you can take as long as you wish to enjoy yourself. Plenty of trails exist for hikers and ramblers. You could take a short walk of a couple of miles, taking less than half a day, or spend an entire weekend camping and exploring the great outdoors.

For climbers there are half day courses available, especially indoors to enable you to maximise your time wisely. A day at least can be enjoyed in the picturesque Gower Peninsula or the mountains of Snowdonia.

Fishing is quite a godd option, and you will never waste much time looking for a place to fish as there are plenty of fisheries scattered over the countryside.

Use half-days and evenings to enjoy the culture of the country, perhaps by visiting a museum, art gallery or craft centre, or catching a performance at the Wales Millennium Centre.

If you are not spending long in the country, you may prefer to stay in one of the delightful holiday cottages in Wales or a B&B. Wales has plenty of high-quality hotels if you don’t fancy catering for yourself or your family, and cosy, family-run B&Bs to give you a taste of home away from home.
